Can babies get backwards colic?
Like when they cry all morning, but seem to calm down by afternoon?
I say yes, and it should have some clever name besides "colic."
Like "Let's get your day off to a really lovely start, shall we?" or "Waking hell" or "No bra for you till 3!"
Yes, I think any of those would work.
Still, oh how I adore him.
Nope, it was not when they had to stick his heel 3 times and SQUEEZE it till he screamed in a way that would make even his father cringe.
It was when they weighed him.
9 pounds, 2 ounces.
How has my brand new baby grown so much?!?
I wanted to snatch him from the scales, clutch him to my chest and run home.
Then find some way to stop time.
I saw those numbers and had to swallow hard and not talk for 10 seconds.
Already, it is going too fast!
Even when it seems like I don't have enough hands or hours or ZZZs, it breaks my heart that they are tiny for such a short time.
But while he is tiny, I am going to hold him and kiss him and enjoy every minute of his little tininess. Or at least the minutes after about 3:00.
P.S. Tony loved his little Valentines. So much, in fact, that he sat in his truck and opened them all at the same time. Really, he said he was in a hurry, and didn't open the 8 or 9 OR 10 o'clock packages till 10:30. Thought he was supposed to have started with 1, 2, and 3. Figured out my system after he read the card and then opened them ALL in the parking lot of whatever project he was visiting at that moment.
I guess I'll have to come up with something less time consuming next year. Oops.

I can't believe he's already 9 pounds!!!! I know what you mean about the getting big too fast. I looked through my old blog posts and almost cried that Kate was just barely a newborn and now she's huge!!
You sound great!! I am so itching to meet Boone in person! :)
