The chill of autumn, in August.

Summer here is just not long enough. I love to be HOT, like to the point where the sun almost stings... The other day there was the unmistakable chill in the wind. The thermometer says 74 but it feels like 64. I think we got 7 or 8 weeks of 70 plus weather. Alas, I miss the sunshine. Plus how could you not want summer to last forever when you've got cute little funny monkeys like mine?

Not for the squeamish...

I feel absolutely awful about this. Poor little Jossy banged her little head and SPLIT it open. Not cut, not scrape- it was more like she popped?!? Not to mention the ensuing gore that pretty much ruined my sister's carpet. (She tried to be nice and said it would blend in with the popsicle drips, but I think most people can tell that this is no blue raspberry Otterpop.)

Why do head wounds have to bleed so bad? I was going to run her into the ER because it looked like she had been scalped.

After we stopped the bleeding and this was what was left, me and Jen decided we were doctors and we glued and butterflied it. I was torn about taking her in for stitches because either she'll have a small scar with stitch marks, or a slightly larger scar with smooth edges. I'll let you know how that turns out. Still, I am absolutely sick about it. Poor little thing was a pretty good sport about the whole thing. Princess bandaids work wonders.

Also a note: The usual suspect (Gage) was no where in the area and he has been fully acquitted.

It's been barely week, and I've read it twice...

Alas, in Rexburg there were no fun, brightly lit, sanitary release parties. There was, however, a rockin' line of giggly women (and a few guys) standing outside the local Walmart. We had a blast, sipping late night treats from Dairy Queen, and Ashley razzing the PEACE OFFICER! GAH!! Luckily, no one was arrested, as the event remained peaceful. The pictures hardly do the night justice, but half the ladies in town were present...

You can barely see, but folks were lined up all the way past the back of the building.
From our spot, you can almost see the front door. We were willing to wait an hour-ish, so we were in the top 40. It was AWESOME!!

And the book was pretty good too...
